Claudia Sorokina is a Franco-Russian soprano. After completing the undergraduate course in Vocal Studies at Moscow State Tchaikovsky Conservatory, where she was awarded a first prize, Ms Sorokina pursued her vocal training under Mirella FRENI, Mariella DEVIA, Lauren NUBAR and Dalton BALDWIN, successfully competing in several international competitions and winning the first prize in the Riccardo Zandonai contest at Riva del Garda, Italy. Ms Sorokina made her singing debut under the direction of the prestigious conductors Gennadi Rozhdestvensky and Vladimir Ponikin.
Her performance
at the Puccini Festival in Torre del Lago in honour of Riccardo Chailly marked the beginning of her European operatic career and she has since sung many prominent roles:

She has frequently performed song recitals, amongst which are: the Nuremberg Glückf-Opern-Festspiele with the Salzburg Camerata Academica in the role of Iphigenia, Iphigénie en Aulide/C. W. Glück; Iphigenia /Iphigénie en Tauride/N. Piccini (recorded by Bayrische Rundfunk); L. Van Beethoven's 9th Symphony with the Rostock Nordphilarmonische Orchester; the Requiem of G. Verdi at Eindoven (The Netherlands).
